Sage Baggott (“Louis”/producer/score drummer) — Sage is an artist, a musician (he plays drums and percussion with many Bay Area bands) and works as a graphic designer. This is his first film (if you don’t count the Super-8 Star Wars rip-off he made in the 3rd grade.) marcia c* gagliardi (“Babette”) — Marcia spent a large part of her childhood re-enacting commercials on home video for bizarre product choices like Irish Spring soap, Parkay and Nair. Playing Babette was one of her greater challenges since at the time of filming she had just quit smoking. Fun. Raven (“Gilles”) — Raven is a multidisciplinary artist who has co-written, produced and performed in guerilla-street theatre, and is an Emmy-winning documentary videographer (“Sizongena: Coming Home”). |
Stephanie A. Gardner (“Bouncer”) — As
the granddaughter of Philippine director Eduardo De Castro and actress
Rita Rika, it was likely Stephanie was going to end up in film at some
point. She has been a hip-hop club DJ since 1986, so she made a good
bouncer. She is also the editor of hip-hop site The Vinyl Exchange — www.vinylexchange.com
Clifford Traiman (director of photography) — Cliff has worked as a Gaffer on a variety of film and video projects, ranging from narratives and feature films like Speakeasy “Project Greenlight II” (2002) and San Francisco’s GROOVE (1999) to music videos and commercials for the likes of Apple Computers, Metallica, Seal and Safeway. He has additional experience as grip or electrician on The Game, City of Angels, The Matrix II & III, Star Wars: Episode II and The Wedding Planner. Summer Oram (producer) —Summer has a rich history as a Producer for Interactive Advertising, so working on Mantis with its tight timeline and an even tighter budget wasn’t too much of a stretch. |
